The wholesale business in the UK is a great business to build or start your business with!
Just a quick look on the internet and you’ll find 100′s of wholesale sites and forums. both for wholesale and the wholesaler.
Once you find the wholesale sites then the rest is easy….
Let me give you the basic 3 step guide to building a business with wholesalers.
1. Find what people are looking for and buying right now. if you can identify the latest craze then you could make a killing!
2. When you know what people are looking for, you then need to find out what people are paying for it.
3. Now you know what they want and what they’ll pay, you need to go and get it for less and sell it to them!
In a nut shell that’s the basic model for trading in just about all business. It’s all about supply and demand. If you are completely new to business this can be a quick and low cost way to get something up and running and get some cash flow coming in without the need for a shop, market stall or website.
So once you have established that there is a market for a certain product then you need to search for a supplier, preferably a wholesale supplier.
When you find a wholesaler the main big difference in dealing with them instead of retail shops is that you’ll nearly always be buying in bulk. This can be in multiple units of 2, 3, 6, 12, 24, 50, 100 or 1000′s of the same unit.
The other big difference is the price you’ll pay. When you buy from a wholesaler you are buying at wholesale prices. Usually this will be much less than what the usual shops are selling it for, I say usually as this is not always the case. Be Careful and look around at what the internet shops are selling it for first. look at ebuyer, ebay, amazon, play and all the others, as often some of the big companies will be selling it for less than you’ll pay at the wholesaler. But in ngeneral, retailers and other traders buy products from a wholesaler, in bulk, at an average of 50% less than you’ll pay in a retail shop. that’s where the profit is.
As an example, as I’m writing this you can buy (at wholesale price) a pair of Motorola home cordless phones with an RRP of over £70 for under £35. that would enable you to double your money giving you a return of 100% if you sold them at a full RRP.
You can sell them for less than the RRP at say £60 and advertise them at a discounted price and you’ll still make a healthy profit.
